Success Story: Kylee Enriquez Sapungan

2nd Successful story; is from Kylee Enriquez Sapungan. I was born in Calingag in 1993. My father is a farmer and my mother a Barangay Health Worker. When I began high school I studied at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy for a year, 2005-2006. However, due to my daily allowance, travel, and other costs, I was then transferred at my own request to FKM Calingag High school which opened in 2005. My parents agreed to my transfer because it was more convenient and saved money. I studied at FKM Calingag High School from my second year, 2006-2007, until I graduated in 2009. My burning desire was to become a teacher. After graduating, therefore, I gained a BSED (Bachelor of Science in Education) major in English at Abada College, Philippines, and thought English there. Now I am teaching in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I was very grateful to be at FKMCHS in Calingag. It enabled me to pursue my teaching ambitions. Our teachers were excellent. There were no computers in my time, but they still did their best to teach us what we needed to know. With the books donated by the SIKAT Charity, they were able to get more supplementary materials to help them teaching, and we students were able to widen our knowledge by reading. Despite its inadequate facilities and equipment, the whole Calingag Community were very grateful to have this school, instead of having to send their children to school elsewhere. Out -of school youth, also were able to continue their education and finish their studies. Now we all have the chance of better lives.
