Treasurehunt Event

A spring motor ride into Kent to Hunt for Treasure!

Saturday 10th April 2010 10.30am

This is not a race, and the rules will disqualify any racing or fast completion times.

No special equipment is required, although a Road Atlas may be useful. Maps of the area will be provided.

Please check the terms of your Motor insurance as the organisers will not be liable for any accident/loss or damage to vehicles/persons or property, which may occur whilst taking part, however caused.

The aim is to collect (by map reading and driving), information from 13 points along the 55 mile (approx.) route. We plan for an event that may introduce you to some unknown areas of Kent, and to enjoy the North Downs and Greensand country side. While planning this route, we met some interesting local people, maybe you will also.

The start of the route will be in the car park for the cinema/BQ and the 'green' Sainsbury shop off Bugsby Way and Peartree Way (Horn Lane) SE 10. Please park your car at the far side of this area, backing on to the Tunnel Approach (A102). The route will finish at The White Horse Inn at Bearsted, which is situated 100 years from Bearsted railway station.

The planning group took 4½. Hours to complete this route. It is anticipated therefore that it will be an all day event, (enjoying beautiful countryside in wonderful spring sunshine!) starting at 10.30am

The treasure prize will be awarded at the finish. (The White Horse, Bearsted). This will be given to the person with all the answers correct.

If there is more that one qualifier for the prize, the winning names will be put into a hat and one selected at random by the pub Landlord. The organizers decision will be final. The winner will be notified, and all entrants will be given the correct answers when all entrants have completed the course (or withdrawn!).

It is said that the Health service is “free at the point of need” and the same could be said for Education in this country. Unfortunately, this is not true throughout the world. The aim of SIKAT (Charity No. 1123801) is to give hope to disadvantaged children of the Philippines.

Please help us by learning and enjoying a little of this beautiful country, at the same time  helping education in the Philippines.

The entrance fee to take part in this event is £30.00.
