About Us

SIKAT is a charitable trust that aims to provide a better future for the children and young adults in the Philippines through education. It was founded by Linda Manlises when her family donated an area of land to the local community so that they could build a school.

It is a charity that is committed to providing a long-term change for the lives of children and young adults in underprivileged communities, and helps by providing donated books and equipment as well as commissioning building and development projects.

Our work in the UK is mainly fundraising and administration. This work is carried out entirely by the trustees of SIKAT and its volunteers. It is close to our hearts because it started as a family charity and we are passionate about the cause and dedicated to our work. We believe that by helping the child through education you can help the entire family.

We get involved with people directly. We link donors to those in need through child sponsorships and we believe that getting people connected is the best way to make a difference. Furthermore we help communities to identify their own needs and plan their own activities so that they can become self-sustaining.

With Sikat you can guarantee that anything you donate will go directly to the beneficiaries.
